The power of imagination makes us infinite. John Muir. Photo Chris-traildino.com-comWhat if someone doesn’t get the grades they want to let them go to university?

That is a question that is asked every year pretty much by all A-level students and their parents.

As ever there are voices from industry that implore both students and parents not to lose heart and there are opportunities, a wealth of opportunities “out there”. Here is just one illustration of that.

And a few inspirational quotes.

Smartphone users targetted via Twitter acquisitionDoes this show Twitter have an eye on smartphone market growth and the mobile Internet?

We are continuing to urge our clients to pay even more attention to mobile users and how their web sites handle them, and we’re happy to help and advise with that. The rationale behind the advice is simple, the researchers, the boffins, that statisticians are all showing huge growth in the use of mobile phones (and smartphones in particular) to browse web sites. The linear way that technology evolves, relentlessly driving forward, means that Smartphones will be the ubiquitous mobile handset soon enough.

But why would Twitter invest in a mobile app development platform?

Twitter accounts are useful business tools but require thought, planning and consideration for other users for you to get the best out of them and to optimise your efforts.

When we set use a client’s web site to tweet on their behalf, it is always measured to avoid flooding the time-line. The technique we advocate is a valid use of Twitter when you have a CMS web site made by us; write an article, new content or a blog post on your web site and your CMS site will post a short tweet on for with a link back to your site for your followers to read more if they are interested. The same is done via Facebook.

EU Cookie Law

Posted by on in News

...may be as half-baked a law as they come but are you, does your company's web site meet the requirements?

A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is a piece of data stored by a website within a browser, and then subsequently sent back to the same website by the browser. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember things that a browser had done there in the past, which can include having clicked particular buttons, logging in, or having read pages on that site months or years ago.

A snippet from Wikipedia

In quoting from Wikipedia to start this news article we hope that we're setting out to be as impartial as possible over this issue, despite what our professional opinion assesses what the true value of this law to consumers really is.

Customer Gives Feedback - Its Banging

Customer Gives Feedback - Its "Banging"

This is feedback we've just received from a customer who has just seen the first live preview of his new site. We make a point of working closely with our customers to make sure we give them a site that not only does what they want it to do but that it also gives the visual style they were hoping for.

To be honest, we feel that if we don't exceed that expectation then we are somehow failing, however that's another story, back to the tale in hand!
